30th Anniversary Annual Dinner

Last weekend was a time for celebration close to the hearts of everyone at YBG as we celebrate our 30th anniversary in business. On Saturday, we held a big dinner to thank our dedicated employees, business partners and loyal customer who have supported us all these years.

The evening started with a toast from the founding siblings of Yap Brothers Group: Mr. Jack Yap, Dato’ Jess Yap, Dato’ Ken Yap, Mr. David Yap, Mr. Alvin Yap and Ms. Fanny Yap. YBG’s business partners namely Yap Autocity, M-Power Technique, M-Power Motorsports and Global Tint were present to witness this special occasion.

The evening continued with a welcome address by our Sales Director, Dato YK Yap and a speech by our Managing Director, Ms. Fanny Yap. The dinner began with the customary yeesang (Prosperity Toss) followed by a series of entertaining games and lucky draws.

Our MD recalls the humble beginnings when YBG started in 1988 and noted on how far the group has come.

“I am proud to see the continued growth of YBG. The journey from a simple shop 30 years ago to a warehouse in PJ and over 100 employees today is not easy. Nevertheless, I am confident that YBG will only be better in the days to come”, says Ms. Fanny.

Rewarding outstanding performers

The highlight of the night was an award ceremony to some of our best and top performers. Despite 2017 being a tough year for us, our dedicated sales personnel continued to work hard and serve our customers to the very best.

As we celebrate the 30th Anniversary, the Board of Directors took the opportunity to thank everyone for the commitment and trust in us. Our success would not be possible without the support from all of our employees and business partners.

It was also announced at the dinner that the previously known “Yap Brothers” will be re-branded to “YBG” in 2018. This is a part of a long-term strategic plan for the group as we move towards a digitally influenced market.
